Nonna’s Cucina cafe now proudly offers its very own dysphagia menu, the first of its kind in South Australia (and possibly Australia!). The introduction of texture-modified meals prepared to IDDSI standards will invite people living with swallowing difficulties can safely dine out with family and friends.
Many Australians require texture modified meals due to swallowing difficulties, dental issues, or other medical conditions. At Nonna’s Cucina, we specialise in meals that are not only safe and easy to eat, but also look and taste delicious.
For many people with dysphagia, eating in public simply isn't possible, which can lead to social isolation and exclusion. This initiative aims to change that by bringing safe, nutritious, and visually appealing texture-modified meals into a cafe setting.
Our menu follows IDDSI standards and includes the following:
Easy to Chew (Level 7)
Soft & Bite Sized (Level 6)
Minced & Moist (Level 5)
Pureed meals (Level 4)
Some Thickened liquids
